Sohar Aluminium staff volunteer for Injaz programme

Nine volunteers from Sohar Aluminium participated in the Injaz Programme in 2006.

Injaz aims at educating, inspiring & mentoring young students from various areas in Oman to learn more about the economy, personal finance, entrepreneurship and leadership skills. Sohar-Aluminium and its employees are delighted to play a part in this initiative that supports and motivates young people to reach their potential.

The Sohar Aluminum employees who volunteered for the programme were from various departments: Operations,Corporate Affairs, Commercial, Finance and Project, together combining various disciplines and diverse experience of working in the private sector.

Sohar Aluminum’s shareholders are Oman Oil Company, Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority, and Alcan. The company was established in September 2004 to construct and operate a single AP35 potline aluminium smelter with an associated power plant.

The smelter is targeted to start its first production of hot metal in 2008.
