Health

  Safety

At Sohar Aluminium we believe good health is good business. Our policy of ‘zero harm’ extends to our people not only in the workplace but also in their families’ daily lives.

We encourage employees to adopt a healthy lifestyle for themselves and for their families. All employees joining the company undergo a pre-placement medical assessment, where they are carefully screened to ensure they are physically capable of carrying out their tasks and that they are placed into areas that do not pose significant risk to their health.

We ensure that potential hazards at the workplace are identified, assessed and controlled in order to protect are employees and monitor their health on a regular basis.

Our occupational health and industrial hygiene specialists will provide workplace / shop floor technical support to supervisors and workers on health and ergonomic issues and provide the necessary health monitoring consistent with smelter and power plant operation. A dedicated hygiene section is being established to assist the EHS department in the development and the implementation of Occupational Health programs to ensure preventing employee ill health from exposure to hazardous substance or physical stresses arising from the workplace when the plant is commissioned.
