Al Batinah International School (ABIS) in Sohar, Oman, recently celebrated the graduation of its class of Grade 12 students of 2020-2021. This was the 7th group of students that have graduated from the ABIS high school since the school was authorised for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Due to the current COVID-19 precautions in place, each student received their own graduation ceremony with their family members in attendance which was video streamed to ensure that fellow students, teachers, extended families, and friends could also be a part of this special milestone.

Mr Dominic Robeau, Head of ABIS, said: “We offer the IB Diploma because it focuses on rigorous academic study and is recognized and respected by the world’s leading universities. The discipline, knowledge and skills gained by our students while they studied the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme have certainly prepared these young adults for success”.

The graduating class will move on from ABIS with a range of plans including the study of psychology, engineering, marketing, and tourism. Future destinations for the young high school graduates stretch across the world from Canada to the United Kingdom to Dubai to the Philippines. Some of ABIS’s previous alumni have gone on to pursue careers in medicine, law, business, computer engineering, science, and other significant fields.

ABIS is proud of these graduates and wishes them all the best for their next stage in life.
