In line with its endeavour to support an active lifestyle amongst the youth, Sohar Aluminium has joined forces with the upcoming Al Mouj Muscat Marathon to inspire the next generation of athletes. There has been an overwhelmingly positive response from the youth looking to take the first steps towards a healthy and active lifestyle when Oman’s biggest race returns on 11-12 February 2022 and Sohar Aluminium has been promoting the race within the community in Sohar.

Engineer Said bin Mohammed Al Masoudi, CEO of Sohar Aluminium, said, “our sponsorship of this important event stems from our belief, as a leading company, in the importance of supporting national and international events that contribute to strengthening the Sultanate of Oman's position on the map of global sporting events. It is an opportunity to share and exchange sports and health values and best practices that promote healthy lifestyle among members of the society.” 

The 2022 Al Mouj Muscat Marathon includes three races designed specifically for kids, with the option of 1km designed for children between 7-8 years old, 2km for those aged 9-10 and a 3km race for 11- and 12-year-olds. Every participant will experience the same incredible atmosphere as the adults, receiving an official time, a t-shirt and a medal at the finishing line.

The event has also been popular with teams of runners from several of Oman’s corporates. The Al Mouj Muscat Marathon, is a great way to bond as a team by training together, motivating each other and accomplishing an incredible feat as a group. SA employees will be participating in this event across the various categories. In addition to the Kids’ races, there is also a full marathon, half marathon, 10km and 5km race available to participants over the age of 12. Al Mouj Muscat Marathon is the most popular and premier event in Oman’s sporting calendar.
