This week, Sohar Aluminium held a celebration of Omani Women’s Day under the auspices of Janab AlSayyidah Basma bint Fakhri bin Mohammed Al Said, and in the presence of the company’s female employees and contractors, and the Management Team. The event included a panel discussion entitled “Women Empowerment in the Sultanate of Oman” and saw the participation of female officials from the public sector and Sohar Aluminium.
The event started with a speech by Ahmed Al Kharusi, Sohar Aluminium’s General Manager of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, in which he said: “Our vision towards the roles performed by women and their achievements at Sohar Aluminium goes hand in hand with our strategic plans, as we always seek to pave the way and tackle challenges in order that our female employees and contractors can perform their duties to the fullest.”
The panel discussed several topics including women’s roles and position in Oman’s 2040 Vision, roles, and efforts of women in the private industry, Sohar Aluminium’s social initiatives and projects to support women, and media’s role to empower women.
At the end of the event, the chief guest, Janab AlSayyidah Basma Al Said, recognised the panellists and the company’s female employees and contractors.
