Sohar Aluminium (SA) announced the new batch of its employees selected for the Further Education Support Programme (FES) for 2024. Through this Programme, SA supports its employees to pursue their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in different colleges and universities in the Sultanate of Oman. The Programme is one of the many initiatives which reflect the Company’s continuous efforts to support its employees’ personal development and career growth.
The Further Education Support Programme, introduced in 2012, showcases SA’s strategic vision of retaining employees, fostering their development, and making targeted investments in their future. By prioritising continuous learning and development, the company builds a highly skilled and engaged workforce capable of driving its success in a dynamic global market.
Commenting on the FES Programme, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Kharusi, GM of HR and Corporate Affairs at Sohar Aluminium, pointed out, “Since its inception, the number of employees supported is increasing every year and until now we have awarded 109 scholarships comprising of 28 Postgraduate and 81 Undergraduate courses, among of which are 86% are male while 14% are female employees”.
The scholarships granted by the Further Education Support Programme cover different disciplines including engineering, health and safety and business management. It is worth noting that around 24 employees have been promoted to higher positions within the organisation post obtaining academic qualifications under this program.
