In recognition of the importance of public-private sector partnership in the development of the agriculture sector and supporting charitable associations in the Sultanate of Oman, Sohar Aluminium (SA) signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate and Atta Saham Charity Team.
The signing ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Development and attended by His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Battashi, Wali of Saham, their Excellencies members of Shura Council of the Wilayat of Saham, members of municipal council, representatives of Sohar Aluminium and other dignitaries.
The MoUs were signed by Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Kharusi, General Manager of HR and Corporate Affairs at Sohar Aluminium, Eng. Athab bint Rashid Al Rashdi, Manager of Water Resources Department at the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate and Saif bin Rashid Al Sinani, Chairman of Atta Saham Charity Team.
The first MoU stipulates that Sohar Aluminium will fund the maintenance project of Falaj Al Rawdah in the Wilayat of Saham in North Al Batinah Governorate. This project is part of Sohar Aluminium’s social investment initiatives, which aim to provide support to various segments of the community. It further serves preserving natural heritage and agriculture key components in the Sultanate of Oman.
The second MoU was signed to support funding the construction of an investment building for Ataa Saham Charity Team. The building consists of 3 floors and is built over 2,900 sqm of land. This commercial building will contribute to supporting the team’s charitable and social activities in the Wilayat of Saham.
Upon signing the agreements, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Kharusi, General Manager of HR and Corporate Affairs at Sohar Aluminium said, “Corporate Social Responsibility at Sohar Aluminium is a core principle that guides our values and operations.
