Sohar Aluminium Company and Sohar Hospital, an accredited American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center, have signed an agreement to grant accreditation to Sohar Industrial Training Institute (SITI) to conduct AHA courses in full accordance with AHA’s esteemed guidelines.

This partnership allows Sohar Aluminium to become an officially recognised AHA Training Site, offering different life-saving courses, including First Aid/Heart Saver and Basic Life Support. These courses will be conducted at the Company’s Sohar Industrial Training Institute (SITI). The courses are designed to equip Sohar Aluminium’s employees and other trainees with the essential skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations and in life-threatening conditions.

As occupational health is an essential part of healthcare in industry, Sohar Aluminium has long been committed to the safety and well-being of its workforce. The Company established a Medical Center on its premises and became operational in November 2008 after due inspection and accreditation/licensing by Ministry of Health with primary focus on Occupational Health. Subsequently, scope of activities was enlarged to include urgent/acute medical care and strengthen emergency medical response.

Forming this partnership with Sohar Hospital serves to ensure that Sohar Aluminium’s employees have access to high-quality, internationally recognized training in life-saving skills, underscoring our commitment to health, safety, and well-being in the workplace and beyond.

By providing essential AHA-certified training, Sohar Aluminium’s Medical Centre aims to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills to act confidently in critical moments.
