An employer of choice and an avid proponent of Omanisation, Sohar Aluminium (SA) participated in various career fairs held across Oman this year.

Career Fairs provide a platform for Omani Nationals with qualifications in diverse fields of expertise to meet directly with recruiters and hiring managers as well as seek out various training and career opportunities.

SA is fully committed to the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said regarding Omanisation of the country’s workforce. The company has established dedicated strategies and policies, to ensure that Omani Nationals are developed to take on challenging roles with increased responsibilities within the organization.

Highlighting SA participation in the career fairs, Mr Faisal Al Belushi, SA‘s Human Resources Administration (HRA) Manager said, “We are committed to providing opportunities for talented Omani nationals to work and develop their career with the company. Fairs like these help us to better network with students, understand their needs and offer our expertise and insight of what the industry requires in the coming years. This helps us prepare future generations in Oman to plan their education specialization according to the industry needs.”

The HRA team of Sohar Aluminium actively interacted with students and graduates at Career Fairs in Sohar University, Al Rustaq College of Applied Sciences and the Omanisation Career Fair 2015 at Oman International Exhibition Centre. The SA representatives answered queries on SA’s recruitment strategy while providing advice to students on being successful in the corporate world highlighting aspects of work ethics and professionalism.

SA’s participation in the Careers Fairs is an integral part of the company’s HR initiatives to bolster its Omanisation efforts. It was an early business decision by SA’s board of directors to offer proper training to its entire workforce whereby SA found this a great opportunity to recruit, train and develop Omanis in order to operate, maintain, supervise and then manage the plant.
