On 26 December 2011, in a grand event conducted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and held at the Al Bustan Palace Ritz Carlton Hotel, Sohar Aluminium was the proud recipient of His Majesty’s Cup for the Top Five Factories in Oman for the second consecutive year.

The event was attended by Ministers, undersecretaries, director-generals, leading industrialists and businessmen. His majesty’s Cup is regarded as the most prestigious award presented to companies in Oman and is aimed at promoting excellence in industrial organisations. The award instituted in 1991, illustrates Sohar Aluminium’s success in achieving the ministry’s targets for the year 2011. The judging criteria for the award were Omanisation, marketing efforts, financial performance, value addition and use of local raw materials, integration with other industries, production efficiency, quality standards and environmental safety.

This award is another milestone for SA and it assumes special significance for it bears His Majesty’s the Sultan’s name. Sohar Aluminium is committed to being an important contributor in the industrial sector for a long term and sustainable value contribution towards Oman’s economy in line with His Majesty’s Vision 2020.
