Sohar Aluminium Company (SA) celebrated the annual anniversary of the Omani Women’s Day, which falls on October 17 every year. This year’s celebration was held under the theme “Glorious, Successful and Brilliant”, reflecting the Company’s commitment to recognising the vital role that female employees play in the business development and success story of Sohar Aluminium over the past 20 years since its inception.

Believing in the importance of women’s professional development, Sohar Aluminium organised “A Work-life Harmony” workshop along with other activities during the event. The workshop, conducted by a professional coach, aimed to equip the company’s female employees with the key skills to manage their work and personal life effectively. Likewise, it highlighted the importance of having work-life harmony, which eventually impacts personal satisfaction, self-confidence and career development.

On the other hand, the workshop served as an opportunity for the female employees to address their different work-life balance challenges and propose potential solutions. With the support of the professional coach, they used the SWOT analysis approach to brainstorm the difficulties and turn them into possibilities.

Organising this event was one of the activities of Sohar Aluminium’s Mulhima Committee, which was formed a year back, representing all female employees in the company. The Committee provides an official platform for discussion with the management, to bring employees concerns, and provide opportunities for female employees to collaborate, learn, and inspire.

Sohar Aluminium is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that not only supports female employees, but also empowers them to shoulder more responsibility and take on leadership roles. The company will continue to implement initiatives that provide training and development opportunities and introduce programmes that support work-life balance.
